Our 6th Annual Drive for Life raised over $5000 for pediatric cancer patients at the UVA Children's Hospital. More than 100 people came to test drive, 51 people donated blood, and many chose to donate cash as well. Thank you everyone! Special thanks to these organizations for their donations.

Four Volvo Models Named "Top Safety Pick"

The Insurance Institute for Highway safety recently conducted new crash tests for 2010 vehicles. The IIHS has toughened their requirements for roof strength in order to protect in a rollover situation. Four Volvo models received top scores, more than any other luxury brand. The Volvo XC90, XC60, S80 and C30 are all Top Safety Picks.

Liza Elected to the VADA Board

Liza Borches, Owner and President of Volvo of Charlottesville, has been elected to the Board of the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association. VADA represents all new car and truck dealerships in the Commonwealth, which employ more than 37,000 Virginians. Liza is the first-ever 4th generation Virginia car dealer to serve on the Board.

Lorient secures two-race deal for Volvo Ocean Race

France returns to host the Volvo Ocean Race from Lorient, in Brittany on the northwest coast of France, in the summer of 2012. Lorient will be the penultimate stopover in the race, which starts from Alicante, Spain in the autumn of 2011. Like La Rochelle before it (1997-98 and 2001-02), Lorient will also host a stopover in 2014-15 edition of the race.
